Superman is an underwhelming film. Interesting premise around Superman's existence. Interesting how it sets up Lex Luthor, giving him a justifiable reason to get rid of Superman. But then Luthor reverts to generic villainy, and the film becomes a generic hero vs villain fight.

The action sequences are so underwhelming. The 3D is a waste of money. It's a scam to have IMAX for this film. I enjoyed the first half of Superman for how it sets up, but boy, it squanders all of its potential with that stupid Luthor guy. I wished he was never in this film.

Must say, the heavy censorship also ruined the experience. The film is heavily cut.

Thalaivan Thalaivii's anti-divorce stance in itself is not a problem from a storytelling POV. How it trivialises the female lead, played by Nithya Menen, to take that stance is. As enjoyable as the film may be, it's hard to digest such trivialisation.

The film's implication that a woman must make most of the compromises for a marriage to be sustainable is iffy. But OK, this is a movie. You tell the story you want to tell. I am not here to judge. But boss, at least do it by telling both sides, without trivialising either.
