The C-PROOF fleet just doubled in size! Welcome to our five new Slocum G3 gliders, three of which have extended battery bays, and all of which use rechargeable lithium batteries! We are super excited to increase our sampling capability in BC coastal waters and the NE Pacific.

MESOS Wed at 12: @ligiaftsouza will show us how biota and soil structure affects soil organic carbon at depth in the Anthropocene. So relevant to us here in Canada: soil dictates how much CO2 boreal forests + tundra can sequester Faculty of Science, Memorial University MUN Earth Sciences @TillHole

In September, we set a personal record for the most gliders in the water at once! 10 gliders—nine belonging to OTN and one to MUNOceanography—were deployed to collect physical, biological and chemical data for different research projects. 📸: Nicolas Winkler Photography
