We spoke about pending government trial of lateral flow devices for visitor testing in care homes. The decision pathways around these are complex and we do need to understand the complexities before using them at scale. More specific and sensitive approaches may be required.

A paper my Dementia at Bradford MSc #Dementia dissertation student Sarah and I wrote on robotic pets in care homes has been accepted for publication Dementia Community. Introduced me to robotic dogs and cats, which might be good companions for #lockdown2uk plus they wouldn't eat the birds!

A very rainy day so an hour spent watching the world of my garden brought the squirrel who hasn’t given up trying to get into my squirrel proof bird feeders - luckily he went away unsuccessful again 😂

This is something I still need time and space to reflect on. There are positives, but also challenges, to using your personal story as a CEO. As the podcast covers, ultimately could I have lived with myself if I hadn’t?

This is great news! Deborah Sturdy has long been a champion for what nursing can bring to social care. This is good for a beleaguered sector and hopefully a harbinger of a better 2021.
