Every year, I chase publishers to submit books to Jhalak Prize and am always disheartened & enraged by their reluctance. Each year, amazing books are inexplicably not submitted their publishers decide they don't want to. Why is #publishing SO averse to celebrating their books?

As Chair of this prize, I couldn't be more delighted that we chose Cherise Morris with her gem of a manuscript, the cosmic matter of black lives! Look out for it when Cassava Republic publishes it!
