I thoroughly enjoyed chatting to Charlotte Bateman at the Metro  this week for a feature all about Viking food- Just a reminder that my book Fodder & Drincan: Anglo-Saxon Culinary History with Equinox Publishing makes a great Christmas gift (I felt I could share that now it's November)📚😉

Humour me I'm doing some research....What are the first things you think about, in terms of any emotional connections when you look at this object? Appreciate this won't be the same for different cultures & apologies in advance for any triggers. PM me if preferred #reminiscence

One of a pair of Victorian salad bowls from my collection. I remember salads from my childhood served in bowls like this by my Grandma. Concoctions of gem lettuces, beetroot and peanuts, often alongside homemade scotch eggs.Who remembers eating salad as a kid? #salad #History

Very pleasant day at National Trust in Croome. Rewind to my last visit here in 2020 when I was filming for #BBCCcountryfile with Anita Rani.Highlights today were the best slice of Victoria Sponge I've had in a while & spotting the famous cockerell umbrella stand. #Easter

I came across one of these when visiting a Mexican village. It's a traditional Mayan Pib - a method of cooking I'm tackling for some learning resources.Underground ovens traverse many cultures, but I've never created one. Has anyone else? I'd love to know. #undergroundcooking
