'Green sleeves' was one of the most popular #ballad tunes of the 17th + 18th centuries. It's included in John Thomas' #fiddle tune book as a 6/8 dance tune. The Fiddler's-tune-book dating from 1752 is now available online here: hdl.handle.net/10107/5130424
