40% estimated fish loss as waste in Tanzania! Today has Mwambao trained 40 fishers on processing large pelagics. Bleeding at sea, storage on ice, and gill removal all help reduce spoilage. Training and awareness to all market chain actors are needed to counter misconceptions.

In celebration of World Fisheries Day November 2024, Mwambao Coastal Community Network Tanzania & Wizara ya Uchumi wa Buluu na Uvuvi Zanzibar launched the first Fisher Certification Training with 53 fishers from Pemba & Unguja. The program aims to enhance fishers' skills and promote marine conservation. #SustainableFisheries
