Well done to The Ballagh Game Preservation Association in winning Intermediate Club of the Year 2025! The club is very active in the rearing and release of pheasants, mallard, and grey partridges. In recent years, they have erected barn owl boxes and worked with Wexford Barn

I am currently on my way home from a Waterfowlers Network meeting in Finland. We saw some great wetland creation projects and the efforts to combat the invasive Racoon dog by Finnish hunters and authorities. Video of one created wetland with a sound familiar to wildfowlers.

Following the recent (much needed) rains, a number of birds are appearing in woodlands in core areas that have been blank so far this season🧐 We routinely see this in the peripheral areas (blanks in dry springs) but this appears to be an almost immediate response to conditions
