#PhysicsOfLife2024 Day 8! Really enjoyed the two morning sessions by Vijay Krishnamurthy on the physics of Soft Matter and Pattern Formation. This was followed by sessions by NayakLab and Shruthi Viswanath in the afternoon. Living Machines-NCBS

#PhysicsOfLife2024 Day 9! The last day of lectures saw @thattai go over three stages— past, present and future— of computational and quantitative approaches to biology. In the afternoon, Archishman Raju talked about renormalization groups. Living Machines-NCBS

#PhysicsOfLife2024 Day 10! We presented our group projects on the final day. This was followed by a career counseling session. Had a wonderful time during lunch talking with everyone about our experiences. The last ten days have been so great! Living Machines-NCBS

And being surrounded by people with such diverse and fascinating interests is one of the best things ever— there are so many new perspectives you get to see. There's so much to learn. Thank you #PhysicsOfLife2024! Thank you NCBS! Living Machines-NCBS

Pit vipers use infrared light to find prey in the dark. In this commentary @thattai explains how, using gossip as an analogy! IASc, Bengaluru Wisdom of (molecular) crowds: How a snake’s temperature-sensing superpower separates information from misinformation link.springer.com/epdf/10.1007/s…

Check out this Infosys Prize lecture by Prof. @thattai, where the Infosys Prize winner weaves together threads from biology, physics, and computer science to tell the story of the past, present, and future of cellular life - Mount Carmel College Autonomous youtube.com/watch?v=1lhmnF…

What can #singlecell lineage correlations teach us about drug tolerance, timing of #persisters, and how (not) to analyse #barcoding data? A lot that is counterintuitive!
