India in Science Dr. Govind Swarup & The Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope (GMRT) National Centre for Radio Astrophysics GMRT is one of the world's largest and most powerful radio observatories. Located near Pune, India, it probes the universe at frequencies from 130 to 1450 MHz, where few others can.

About 25 students from Inter-University Centre for Astronomy&Astrophysics's Summer School visited the #GMRT last Saturday. They were given a tour of the facility by GMRT staff members Kaushal Buch, Pravin Raybole, and Nilesh Raskar.ย Photo credits: Balpreet Kaur

As in previous years, several students are currently visiting #NCRA as part of our summer research and internship programmes. Last week, they visited the #GMRT, where our staff members gave them a tour of the antenna base, receiver systems, control rooms and labs. Kaushal Buch

#NCRA conducted an outreach astronomy session at the CSMEM School, Kasarwadi. Our postdoc fellow, Dr. Kshitij Bane Kshitij Bane , introduced students to the wonders of the universe through a talk on basic astronomy. The curious students were enthusiastic and asked great questions!

Many students, postdocs, and staff members from the #NCRA-#TIFR community are participated in the SKA Observatory Science Meeting, 'A New Era in Astrophysics: Preparing for Early Science with the SKAO', this week, and shared how their research aligns with SKAO's science goals.
