On May 27, North Carolina State Highway Patrol members in Troop B joined together with family, friends and supporters of Master Trooper Ben D. Wallace to commemorate a bridge dedication in his memory. Wallace tragically died on Nov. 2, 2018, after experiencing a medical emergency upon completing his shift.


On June 24, North Carolina State Highway Patrol members in Troop C joined together with family, friends, local and state officials in Johnston County in celebration of a bridge dedicated in memory of fallen Trooper Andrew James "A. J." Stocks. Stocks died on Sept. 9, 2008, while stationed in Wake County.

Last week North Carolina State Highway Patrol and CMPD News conducted a joint enforcement project in Mecklenburg County to address street racing. Five vehicles were seized during the operation for racing (including two Lamborghini's) and 11 additional drivers are also facing charges for prearranged racing.

North Carolina State Highway Patrol Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section recently hosted its first Advanced Post-Crash Inspection (APCI) Course for out-of-state Troopers. Troopers from South Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky and Massachusetts were in attendance for the week-long training session.
