NESSC is happy to announce the PhD defence of Gerrit Müller (Geosciences UU) on Wednesday November 27 in the Utrecht University Hall! For his PhD, Gerrit studied the role of chemical weathering of rocks, and how it impacts biology and climate change. Read more: buff.ly/3WqVk8F

The breakdown of nitrogen in rivers systems has rapidly accelerated in the 20th century, a new NESSC study by Junjie Wang and colleagues at Geosciences UU shows. These natural processes have accelerated up to three to six times. Read more about the study here: buff.ly/3LWrOmv
