For over a decade, National Geographic Pristine Seas (National Geographic Pristine Seas) has explored some of the most vital places in the ocean using a multidisciplinary approach to help create marine reserves. Take a behind-the-scenes look at what happens on an expedition.


Since 2008, National Geographic Pristine Seas has carried out expeditions in 36 places, 25 of which have since been protected, covering a total area of more than 6.5 million square kilometers — more than twice the size of India.
