Later that day, Ellie stayed late at work to call the patient to offer a referral for social prescribing which, having gained his trust, he accepted. This act of kindness exemplifies some of the amazing staff we have working in our organisation. Congratulations Ellie and Gill!

Our penultimate award this evening comes from Chairman Sean Lyons. He’s chosen to recognise someone who supports the people who support us all.

Our hospitals would be lost without our army of volunteers, and in recent years we’ve seen our numbers swell, helping some to pass their time meaningfully and others to gain invaluable experience for an exciting healthcare career ahead.
