Very excited to find a Dutch ringed Spoonbill with a transmitter at Holkham. Sad to hear the transmitter does nt work as the local information would have been great to know. Ringed 2022 been in France Spain and Portugal . But first time in UK.

Sadly never got a ticket but what can you say ? Legends. Sabbath nailed it. Ozzy did his legacy justice. From a house where in my youth the church organ ruled, the sound of Sabbath's first album infiltrated and my musical path was laid. Never say die !!! youtu.be/mDGk08j-dls?siโ€ฆ

At distance particularly in the colony, Cattle and Little egret juveniles not always easy to tell apart. Littles have longer bills, Cattles seem to have proportionately larger eyes on a smaller head. Littles larger and slimmer but with varying ages present not always apparent

Great Egret feeding time! ๐Ÿ ๐ŸŽฃ Moments like these are why I thoroughly enjoy the wading birds breeding season. Itโ€™s not every day youโ€™ll get the opportunity to photograph the tender moments of parenting in the bird world. Another image from Florida #birdphotography

First GW Egrets out of the nest and on the marsh this week. Juvs look much fresher, more vibrant bill colour, tiny black tip to upper mandible. Adults looking more worn, black tip all but disappeared, yet some retaining more, some still with aigrettes.
