On 24 February 2022, Putin was counting on an easy victory. But #Ukraine bravely showed him otherwise. To our Ukrainian friends fighting for freedom, to those who are suffering in the occupied territories, to those who we have welcomed in the Netherlands: We stand with you.

Today marks 3 years since Russia launched its large-scale invasion of #Ukraine. The Netherlands will continue to support Ukraine militarily and non-militarily, for as long as necessary. An eventual peace agreement needs to be just, sustainable and in line with the UN Charter.

On Friday, we welcomed our network to our #KingsDay reception.👑􂶂􂶃􂶄􂶅􂶆􂶇􂶈􂶉􂶊 In his speech, Ambassador Andre Haspels emphasized strengthening our partnership with China across trade, culture, health, and education to tackle climate change and promote peace.

In the run-up to #IDAHOBIT, I proudly raised the Progress flag in The Hague. Important to mark this occasion, as LGBTIQ+ persons still face discrimination and violence. The Netherlands works with others to foster change. 1/2

25 years ago, we were the first country to legalise same-sex marriage. Next year, Amsterdam will host the WorldPride. Our message is clear: everyone should be allowed to be themselves. That is why equal rights for #LGBTIQ+ persons is a main priority in our foreign policy. 2/2

We look forward to welcoming @MinisterBZ, Caspar Veldkamp, on his first official visit to China.

The Netherlands wants to work with #China on global challenges. In that regard, it was useful to exchange views with Chinese experts on geopolitics. We touched upon a wide variety of topics, including China's relations with the EU, US, and Russia, and the state of its economy.

Important to meet with my colleague Wang Yi in #Beijing, at a time when dialogue and global cooperation are more urgent than ever. I welcome the joint commitment of China and the Netherlands to climate action, upholding multilateralism, and advancing women's rights. 1/3

The Netherlands and China have much to offer each other business-wise. We discussed our concerns in this area, and jointly underlined the importance of free and fair trade. 2/3

We also spoke about matters on which we do not see eye to eye, including Taiwan and China's enabling of Russia's war in Ukraine. In order to boost EU-China ties, more must be done to address these issues. 3/3

On 25 June, 2025, EU Heads of Mission to the People’s Republic of #China had a working lunch with Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

In view of the upcoming 🇪🇺-🇨🇳 Strategic Dialogue on 2 July in Brussels, as well as ahead of the 🇪🇺-🇨🇳 Summit planned for 24-25 July in 🇨🇳, the sides discussed 🇪🇺-🇨🇳 relations, international and regional hotspots, global issues and multilateral governance in a constructive manner.
