And that's a wrap on party conference season! It's been great connecting with politicians and our member charities over the last few weeks, with life sciences being consistently highlighted as vital to the health and growth agenda.

We have begun testing newborns for over 200 rare genetic conditions as part of a world-leading study in NHS hospitals. If we can diagnose and treat children for rare genetic conditions years earlier and help stop them in their tracks — it will be transformational for patients.

We’re proud to support the new APPG for Life Sciences, who have called on the Chancellor to back UK life sciences in #Budget2024. This cross-party group of MPs and peers has called for protected research funding & tax reliefs to ensure we remain a global #LifeSciences leader.

Today we’ve signed a joint letter to Chancellor Rachel Reeves ahead of the Budget, calling on her to protect investment in R&D. Despite financial challenges, there is a risk that short-term thinking now could damage long-term growth and ambition. bit.ly/4f3vq33
