Happy Nutrition and Hydration Week! We kicked off the week with a stand in the North Mid atrium. A huge thank you to everyone who came by to say hello – we hope you loved the fruit, snacks, supplement samples, and diet sheets!

A huge thank you to our fantastic social team for organizing this week! A special shout-out to everyone who has helped us today from assisting with the stall to sending us resources to discuss with visitors– stay tuned for more events happening throughout the week.

Day 2 of Nutrition and Hydration Week 2: Yesterday, we received tremendous support from our catering team here at North Middlesex University Hospital. We distributed snacks to the patients on the Care of the Elderly ward, all while promoting a food first approach. 🫒🍿🍒🍓🍎🍨🍴

Today, our wonderful Dietitian, Laura, arranged for the Abbott Nutrition Nurses to deliver training to our HCAs and nurses, enhancing their skills and confidence in enteral nutrition, pump feeding, and stoma site care. Thank you to all those that came! #patientfirst

Why we love… board: To celebrate our achievements and strengths, every two weeks, a name from our team is randomly selected and we all write down why we appreciate that person! Lara was our first member for us to celebrate! Lara received such lovely comments 😍❤️

We are continuously learning at NMUH. Today’s CPD sessions 1- Presented by our wonderful dietitian Laura on Dietetics and learning disabilities. 2- Abbott presented a study to us on the importance of dietetic input with our critical care patients during and post admission!

Our band 5s who are working on the current respiratory wards were asked to contribute to Asthma awareness day/ month. They educated visitors on the important role nutrition can play in supporting respiratory health and tips for those who may struggle to eat and drink.
