Set up a disc golf course using tomato cages & dollar tree baskets & it was a blast! To help w/ visuals each cage had a #’d flag associated w/ the same #’d cone to stand at. Ss stood on a colored polyspot & threw to the cage w/ the same color in front of it #AdaptedPE #PhysEd

Ended our field trip season going fishing at a local trout farm w/ our Ss w/ multiple disabilities. We had 2 switch adapted reels & one DIY casting device so Ss could independently cast & reel. Ss also used regular rods w/ adult support 🎣 #AdaptedPE

Water Play Sensory Hack💦 Warm weather means planning water days! I love water beads but we’ve had some Ss try eating them; they say non-toxic but it terrifies me. For a similar effect I tried Pom Poms instead & they look just as fun & a tad less appetizing 🤣 #AdaptedPE #PhysEd

Here’s a floor tape laying hack for you! Saw someone do this before painting w/ painter’s tape & was like 🧠💡You need a long paint roller w/ the roller on & tape. If you’re particular about straight lines it might not be for you, but it gets the job done! Haha #PhysEd #PEhacks

Probably one of my fav thrifted & flipped items b/c it shows how you really can turn random things into greatness. All building credit goes to my husband, Brett. My input was being at Goodwill & saying, “hey, bet you could make a fishing casting device out of this!” 😅#AdaptedPE

Finding ways to utilize a free, common resource (I make sure it’s in decent shape, I promise) & repurpose it into useable equipment. First DIY: made my own color coded (🤌🏼) pipeline so I never have to borrow it again! Moral of the story: repurpose garbage haha #AdaptedPE

Today's ADAPTOBER submission comes from Nicole McCoy (Nicole McCoy) in Pennsylvania. Bringing the parachute out is a highlight for many but in small classes with reduced movement it can be difficult. Here are some accommodations to make it accessible to all!!! #AdaptedPE

Easy, low cost items that can be used to help Ss w/ limited grasp hold an implement. Many can be found at Dollar Tree type stores. I always carry these things in my book bag. Lots of other methods but these were some of the quickest and cheapest ones I could think of! #AdaptedPE

This is a hands on brushing & flossing activity I do w/ HS Life Skills Ss for Adapted Health. You guessed it…it’s with recycled & repurposed materials. Shocking for me, I know. Start saving your soda bottles & egg cartons for some hands on practice 🦷🪥 #AdaptedPE #Adaptedhealth

Another game made from repurposed cardboard. Don’t have an exact name for this other than calling it a ball maze but I used it as a cooperative games activity w/ my HS Autistic Support & Life Skills classes. Both groups really enjoyed it! #AdaptedPE

Wrapped up our 2025 Pumpkin Chunkin’ tournament and even though my trunk was packed to the brim and you could catch me rollin’ dirty down the halls, there was something for all abilities to be successful in chucking a pumpkin!🎃💨 #AdaptedPE

I know a Powerlink & assistive tech may seem intimidating if you’re new to it but you CAN set this stuff up. This is a basic intro to the Powerlink 4 & some tips for setting it up correctly. I’ll get another video together that shows the different modes #AdaptedPE #ATinAPE

A folding chair & gorilla gear ties are typically my go to for setting up my leaf blower and Powerlink, especially as an itinerant APE. Gear ties are just an essential piece of APE equipment 🤌🏼 & folding chairs can typically be found somewhere in a school! #AdaptedPE #ATinAPE
