Pockets of heavy rain earlier in the week were beneficial but most of the area remains very dry. Little to no rain is expected next week which may allow drought conditions to worsen. #inwx #ohwx #miwx

Though we welcomed this past week's rainfall, sadly no appreciable rainfall is forecast over the next seven days or so. As such, drought conditions will continue to worsen further... Visit drought.gov/impacts to learn about how far-reaching the impacts of drought can be. 🫠

When it comes to natural causes of crop loss, the biggest enemy farmers face every year is drought, followed by the opposite problem, too much precipitation. Federal crop insurance exists so you can stay in business year after year, despite the forces beyond your control.
