On this day in 1815 Wellington’s anglo-allied army executed a skilful retreat from Quatre Bras crossroads to the ridge of Mont-Saint-Jean. Napoleon was confident that next day France would win a great victory, but unbeknown to him, a trap had been set. Blücher was coming.
