Extended producer responsibility – ensuring producers, not taxpayers, pay the cost to manage their products at the end-of-life – has long been a focus of my work. Today, the Senate passed #SB1143, which would apply EPR to costly and difficult-to-handle household hazardous waste.

PaintCare has proven to be a successful producer responsibility program for California's excess paint. I'm thrilled that the Legislature has recognized this by passing my #SB1143 to further its operations. Another big win for our environment, consumers, and local governments.
