3rd Battalion recently took its learning beyond classroom walls with a visit to FLC Norfolk – Groton Site at NAVSUBASE New London in Groton, Conn. This immersive, hands-on experience gave these future Supply Officers a front-row seat to real-world #logistics operations. #NSCS

NSCS students toured Ney Hall galley at NAVSTANEWPORTRI, learning from FSO Janet Lamb and CSCM Eber Barraza. From food prep to inventory for 2,000+ daily meals, the visit highlighted the strategy and teamwork that fuel fleet readiness—one plate at a time. #Logistics #ReadyForSea

Today, ENS Ivan Jurkovic presented a brief history of the U.S. Navy Supply Corps' origins. In 1795, Pres. George Washington nominated Tench Francis Jr. to be the first Purveyor of Public Supplies. Francis later financed and outfitted the first six frigates of the U.S. Navy.
