Only during STEAM could a spur of the moment discovery lead to an unplanned learning experience. A coding lesson with cups, was transformed into an engineering lesson about static equilibrium and center of mass thanks to some curious minds!

Engineering in action! After thinking about what parts a shovel needs to do its job, kindergarten engineers began designing and creating shovel prototypes that can hold the most soil. Next steps? Testing and improving our shovels! #thinkers SeaCliffSchool @Smyth1Ann

Fourth graders are exploring natural disasters and ways engineers protect living things. After using LEGOs to construct buildings that would stay safe during an earthquake, students witnessed how moving tectonic plates create many of Earth's features. SeaCliffSchool @Smyth1Ann
