In Nova Scotia, major trauma patients do very well once they make it to our Level 1 hospital (QEII HSC). However, almost 70% of the victims who die from their injuries pass away BEFORE they reach our hospital. This is why injury prevention and trauma education are so important

Off-road vehicles crashes often result in severe injuries, and are common in Nova Scotia (and everywhere else). It's unfortunate and unacceptable that they are usually due to alcohol/drug use/risky behaviour. Time to address this. CJEM CBC Nova Scotia
