Along Liverpool docks, women workers cleaned and repaired the thousands of sacks and bags used in and around the docks. The work was hard, dirty and very low paid. In April 1924,1,600 women, led by Mary Bamber, went on strike. For more info at Snippet nwlh.org.uk/?q=node/317
