We are monitoring the potential of heavy rainfall for parts of coastal LA into the south shore tonight. Please stay weather aware and don't drive through flooded roads. It will be more difficult to see at night. Turn around, don't drown!

815AM Line of storms has mostly moved off of the LA coast and is mainly impacting coastal MS and the Gulf waters to the south. Those storms have the greatest potential to produce strong to severe weather mainly gusty to damaging winds, frequent lightning, and a few waterspouts.

315p - Scattered showers and storms are affecting areas mainly along and south of the I-10/12 corridor. Expect brief heavy rainfall and occasional to frequent lightning if these storms affect your area. Funnel clouds will also be possible, especially in areas near the coast.

A cold front will move through the area this afternoon and evening, bringing scattered showers and storms with it. Once the front clears the area tonight, the weather will improve dramatically with cooler and drier weather on tap for then entire weekend. #lawx #mswx

We still have to deal with a few spotty showers and storms this afternoon but should begin to clear out tonight. Tomorrow will be much nicer with slightly less humidity. Sunday has a chance (20-30%) of showers and storms in the afternoon. #LAwx #MSwx
