In real estate, it's all about Location, Location, Location. That's certainly applies today when it comes to rainfall reports in #OKC. Where official records are made at the airport, 0.15 inches of rain. Meanwhile, parts of northwest Oklahoma City received 2.5 inches. #okwx

12:15 pm - Those thick low clouds are starting to thin out into our more typical summertime cumulus clouds. The good news: some of us will have periods of sun for 4th of July festivities. The bad news: this will help the atmosphere destabilize for some more showers and storms.

It's been extremely humid across our area for the last several days, with "precipitable water" values sitting at or above 2 inches - numbers we expect to see in the tropics. The good news is that we expect to see a return to closer-to-normal summer humidity by tomorrow evening.

3:00 pm - Some heavier showers are developing in central Oklahoma from Shawnee to Marietta. The strongest of these storms will be capable of cloud-to-ground lightning strikes and brief heavy rain.

Strong to severe storms across southwest Kansas and the Oklahoma panhandle will approach northwest Oklahoma over the next hour. Although these storms are expected to weaken, some strong wind gusts, small hail and heavy rainfall will be possible in Harper county.
