Most of us will be dry today with rain chances increasing tonight through the weekend. Some of the rain could be heavy, potentially leading to flash flooding in some areas. Rivers are forecast to remain below action stage except for lingering high water in southern IL and IN.

A slow moving front will sag into the northern Ohio Valley, generating active weather the next couple days, mainly north of the Ohio River. Rain will be heavy at times, potentially leading to localized flash flooding.

Humid air will continue to fuel scattered showers and storms. A weak front will focus most of them over the northern half of the basin, but scattered precipitation is also forecast south of the Ohio River. No new river flooding is forecast.

Heavy rain will move through the Maumee, Great Lakes, and Wabash River basins, bringing 1-2” of rain. Isolated flash flooding and some quick river rises are possible. A cold front pushes through Thursday into Friday, ushering in a brief period of relatively cool, dry weather.

Areas of heavy rain fell over parts of IN and OH last night, driving rivers higher today. Bankfull conditions are expected with isolated minor flooding possible. Going forward, drier conditions expected after today will bring quieter hydrologic conditions for the weekend.
