CME passage continues with a peak of G4 reached. CME strength is slowly weakening and while G4 is unlikely to be reached again, there remains a slight chance for G4 again. Current forecast anticipates G1 being the most likely result, with a chance for G2-G3 levels overnight.

Happy Saturday Western Washington! Majority of temps this morning in the low 50s. Compared to yesterday, temps will be on the cooler side in the mid-to-high 50s. Another system will move across the region on Sunday. 🌧️

Widespread shower activity will persist across W WA today as a weather system swings through the region. Snow levels around 4000 ft will drop to around 2500 ft tonight. A few inches of snow will be possible across both Stevens & Snoqualmie passes tonight into Monday. #wawx

Quite a good push of stratus made its way into Puget Sound this morning from the southwest. The clouds will keep temperatures a few degrees cooler today (more highs in the mid 60's), with eventual burn off expected later this morning and afternoon. #wawx

Showers are moving across the region this afternoon, with a slight chance of thunderstorms as well. The main risks with any of these thunderstorms are a few lightning strikes, small hail, and gusty winds. #wawx

We have had a couple of positive lightning strikes in the last half hour. About 1 in 20 strikes are positive. Positive strikes can be 10 times more powerful than negative ones and can have 300,000 amps and one billion volts. If you are close, it sounds like an explosion. #wawx
