Graduate Fellow Simon Verlynde co-authored two new species of Aeranthes—A. rhopalastra and A. rhytophora from the eastern escarpment forests of Madagascar. Both were assessed as "Endangered" and several plants are currently cultivated in shade houses for ex situ conservation.
