Today, the Community Affairs Bureau proudly hosted another successful Citizen Police Academy graduation. This 6-week program gives community members a unique opportunity to experience the training, knowledge, and dedication that shape the men and women of the NYPD.

A promotion in the NYPD is not just a reward, it’s a responsibility. Today, more than 150 people took the next step in their careers, and renewed their commitment to public service. Their work to drive down crime is exceptional–and it doesn’t go unnoticed. Congrats to all!

Last night, Lt. Kuka and PO Gramlich were addressing a noise complaint of a loud party on Wave Street. While dispersing the crowd, an arrest was effected of an individual in possession of this loaded firearm.

Tonight, Assistant Chief Eger proudly presented college scholarships to three amazing women at the NYS Women’s Inc. Staten Island Chapter event. She delivered a powerful speech on the vital role women play in the workforce, in communities, and in shaping a better world.
