I'm proud to be the Assembly sponsor of the Fair College Admissions Act which seeks to level the playing field for low-income and working-class families who want to send their children to college in NY. It is time to end legacy admissions, a privilege for the privileged.

NYU has made the right decision to end legacy admissions, but the push for fairer admissions must extend statewide. We are proud to stand alongside the New York Coalition for Fair College Admissions, fighting to pass the Fair College Admissions Act.

The NYU College Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for fostering hate on our campus. We will not stay silent in the face of white supremacy.

I spoke with Washington Square News on the harm inflicted on our student body by the NYU College Republicans. I wish I could say they would know better. But they do not understand what it means to protect a community under attack by the very politicians they continue to champion.
