Today, I wrote a letter urging the Foreign Secretary to take action regarding the Madleen aid flotilla, which has been seized by Israel in a violation of international law. I also joined the huge Freedom Flotilla Coalition emergency protest outside the Foreign Office.

I joined the vigil held for Laila Soueif outside St Thomas' hospital, where she is after 250+ days of hunger strike for her son Alaa Abd el-Fattah, who is held unlawfully in Egypt. She is at risk of sudden death. Our government must act now to secure Alaa's immediate release.

I’m relieved that the government has reversed the most harmful winter fuel payment cuts. I wish it hadn’t taken 10 months and a battering at the ballot box to get here. So I’m once again urging the government not to make the same mistake by cutting disability benefits.

It's right that we sanction Israeli politicians Ben-Gvir and Smotrich, but they are far from the only ones responsible for this genocide. We need a full arms embargo with Israel, trade sanctions, and sanctions targeting all those committing human rights abuses.

Almost 2 months have passed since the PM missed his deadline for introducing the Hillsborough Law backed by families, survivors & campaign groups, even though the legislation is sitting here ready to go. Today in Parliament I told the Govt that a failure to introduce a

My question on training provided by the UK to the Israel Defense Forces shows we're not only selling arms, we're also training the forces. This has to stop. I will be following up with more questions. #Parliament #Questions

As well as committing genocide, Israel has bombed Iran in a grave escalation. Israel is no ally, but a rogue and unstable state with a government vying for power at all costs. Our government must no longer allow Israel to act with impunity: stop arms sales, impose sanctions.

9years ago today Jo was murdered. I think about her every single day and am lucky to have so many wonderful memories, but the pain never goes. Whatever our views we must never normalise abuse, threats, intimidation and political violence #JoCox #Sisters #MoreInCommon

For this month's LeftLion Magazine Nottingham column, I set out my position in response to a question that constituents frequently ask: “Why are you still in the Labour Party?” leftlion.co.uk/features/2025/…

Today Israeli forces killed 51 and wounded over 200 people seeking food in Khan Younis. This massacre alone should provoke outrage and action from world leaders, but they are happening almost daily with little reaction. We mustn't allow unconscionable cruelty to be normalised.

No one should ever face prosecution for ending their own pregnancy, but that is exactly what is happening in this country. I'm therefore pleased that an amendment to stop this has passed in Parliament. This is a vital step forward for women’s rights and reproductive justice.

It was an honour to be invited to the Sri Nabh Kanwal Raja Sahib Ji Gurdwara, following the successful efforts of my constituency team to help reopen the bus stop outside the building.

The disability benefits cuts introduced by the government today are not positive reforms to welfare, but a dangerous step backwards. Hundreds of thousands will be plunged into poverty. There is no financial case, nor moral case for these cuts. The government must drop this

Labour governments are meant to lift people out of poverty - not push them into it. But that’s what the cuts to disability support will do - with half a million more people forced to rely on food banks. My interview on LBC on why I’m voting against these devastating cuts.

As Shadow Minister for Disabled People, Vicky championed the principle of “nothing about us without us” and meaningfully engaged with disabled people. She understands the devastating impact that welfare cuts have on their lives. Total respect to her.

Fantastic appointment. Clive Foster has dedicated his life’s work to fighting for justice for the Windrush generations, and I know he’ll make sure government delivers it. Nottingham has always been proud to call Reverend Clive Foster one of our own ❤️
