So it's PNA week, so what is a PNA? Someone who will listen, support, career support, listen to your ideas and help you to implement these. Providing an ear to RNs who may be struggling and helping keep our RNs working and happy

A PNA can support you, whether it's personal or work related, you don't have to suffer in silence, talk to someone. (Details on the UHDB PNA intranet page) Most Trusts now have PNAs available. #UHDB #PNAweek

What makes a good Professional nurse advocate? The ability to listen, empathise, guide and never judge. Everyone has problems, but being able to talk them through can sometimes be all the help someone needs, other times they will need constant support and guidance. #uhdb #pnaweek

How do you become a PNA? With the support of your manager, some L6 (degree) qualification. The course is a 12 week L7 online module. PNAs need to be approachable and to listen & guide, not necessarily give advice. And if all else fails, give cookies 😃 #uhdb #PNAweek
