Extremely excited to share our work published in eLife - the journal where we use single-cell structural biology to understand the ecology of #cellulose degradation and cellulosome structure & distribution, at scales in which microbial life unfolds. See thread below 🧵elifesciences.org/articles/76523

Wonderful talk by Einat Segev at #CopenhagenQBio22 today highlighting the work of @Narvez_Delia and @MartinSperfeld! And then Roberto Kolter asking us to “think outside the rod” ☺️ great science in a beautiful city!

Don't miss Omar Tovar's talk today, where he will describe the functional patterns associated with bacteria belonging to the core microbiome in the rumen ecosystem. Make sure to find him at the MS20 session, Room 2ABC at 11:15🧬🐄 #isme #ISME18

Very happy to share with you a review from my PhD about the amazing plant cell wall surveillance mechanisms in response to pathogens! Omar Tovar frontiersin.org/articles/10.33…

Concluding today two amazing weeks of our Mutathon (mutant marathon!) with my dear friend jorge rocha. We had a wonderful time, and are now waiting for colonies 🧫. Thank you Jorge!!!

Today we finished two incredible weeks of bacterial genetic tricks workshop! 🧬🧫. Gracias jorge rocha

New paper out (despite the crazy circumstances in our corner of the world)- Inorganic microbial chatter! Algae and bacteria communicate through inorganic nitrogen species. Led by Adi Abada and Roni Beiralas with help from many dear friends including Andrew R. Babbin and jorge rocha.

Our new preprint- heroic study by postdocs @MartinSperfeld and @Narvez_Delia, with great colleagues including jorge rocha, revealing a surprising control on the duration of the bacterial lag phase. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

New Paper! PhD student Roni Beiralas takes a deep dive into complex microbial communities. Can bacteria remain pathogenic among their bacterial peers? We find that Sulfitobacter bacteria are superheroes, safeguarding algae against pathogens 🧪🌏🔍 rdcu.be/dmKR1

Cheers to Omar Tovar & Delia Narváez on tying the knot! Wishing you a lifetime of love, happiness, and scientific discoveries together. Here's to the next exciting chapter! 🥂👩🔬👨🔬 #JustMarried #LabLove"

Our new paper reveals a remarkable ability in marine bacteria: they extract methyl groups from algal metabolites, creating a metabolic shortcut that accelerates the shift from lag phase to growth. Expertly led by @MartinSperfeld and Delia Narváez nature.com/articles/s4156…

New preprint! Study by PhD student Valeria Lipsman reveals that higher nutrient levels enhance EPS production by algae and bacteria. Increased bacterial EPS production in response to elevated N and P levels is seen both in the lab and in the environment. biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Hi LatinXChem, presenting my work ‘Can Heavy-Atom Tunneling Determine the Stability of Tricyclic Benzene Isomers?’ at #LatinXChem24 #LatinXChemComp #Comp037 #HeavyAtomTunneling #BenzeneIsomers

Our Post-doc Omar Tovar rocked it at #INRAE2025! 🎉 He presented his fascinating work on "Exploring the functional patterns of the core rumen microbiome." Huge thanks to INRAE_International for hosting!
