Today, National Midwives Association of Uganda in partnership with UNFPA Uganda under the SafeBirth Africa project, held a dialogue in Ganda. The discussion focused on raising awareness, sharing experiences & finding solutions to tackle postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) a leading cause of maternal deaths.
Following the scenario of a mother with PPH being abandoned at a TBA facility, National Midwives Association of Uganda with support from UNFPA Uganda conducted a targeted community dialogue aimed at fostering open discussions and enhancing awareness of maternal health issues in the community.
On #IWD2025, we celebrate women like International Confederation of Midwives President Sandra Oyarzo Torres who are working for a healthier, more sustainable future. "[Midwives] need investment, autonomy, and a seat at every decision-making table,” she reminds us. #InternationalWomensDay #MNHMovementMaker
