I've worked in glaciology, a field inextricably linked with climate, for 14 years. The decline of glaciers and associated impacts can be genuinely traumatic for people who care. This decision from the British government is like a punch to the stomach. 😞 bbc.co.uk/news/science-e…

I'm looking for a new PhD student to study #Arctic marine mammals using passive acoustic data from Baffin Bay. Research questions focused on ecology/behaviour and effectiveness of protected areas. Fully funded position, to be based UVic School of Earth and Ocean Sciences. Formal ad coming soon!
