Really worrying to see an organisation like National Foundation for Educational Research go down the discredited 21st skills rabbit hole - skills like problem-solving and creativity are largely domain-specific and trying to teach them as generic skills will backfire.

Teaching LOOKS easy to the uninitiated, and there’s an “Armchair Quarterback” effect from outsiders who think they can do it better. But great teaching is a repertoire of 100s of automated steps that dynamically adjust to real time information. Not easy, but highly coachable.
