Yesterday, President Trump announced plans for a "Golden Dome" US missile defense shield. Read Rebeccah Heinrichs's recent memo on why an Iron Dome for America would increase the chances of maintaining peace between nuclear adversaries. hudson.org/missile-defens…

Polls show most Americans distrust Putin and want the US to help Ukraine win. Trump can do this now, with tougher sanctions and surging military support. Walking away would profoundly endanger broader US interests—and do for Trump politically what Afghan debacle did for Biden.

John Healey, defending the Chagos deal, says: “international legal proceedings could have rendered the base inoperable". Frankly this government completely failed to make this case in a detailed & convincing way—and it remains unconvincing. Many people across gov’t disagreed.

Why is the US backing this strange deal? Genuinely hoping there is a highly classified reason that will become apparent in years to come… For now, it appears UK taxpayers will be shoveling cash to pro-China Mauritius for the next 99 years, to rent land Mauritius doesn’t own.

In addition to £120 million per year in rent for control of the Diego Garcia military base, UK taxpayers will also be shoveling £45 million per year to the Mauritius government for “economic development and welfare.” I’m sure it will be money well spent!

In addition to “absolute carelessness, irresponsibility and unscientific empiricism,” I'm guessing that the kind of workmanship that accompanies rampant systemic corruption didn't help here. wsj.com/world/asia/kim…

Well done to Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick 🇺🇸 and his colleagues for setting up the potential for a discharge petition regarding the Sanctioning Russia Act of 2025. The discharge petition will ripen as soon as June 3 and it will surely receive 218 signatures. This step shows bipartisan, bicameral

In Georgia, there’s no economic resources for a self-sustained dictatorship. Any and all undemocratic rule in Georgia will have to have existential backing from other autocracies such as Russia, China, Iran. This is why democracy in Georgia is non-negotiable to American and

Putin's mastery of kleptocracy enabled him to consolidate power and ultimately launch his war against Ukraine. But corruption has also crippled Russia's military effectiveness and is now distorting incentives in its war economy. For dictators, corruption is a double-edged sword

Russia doesn’t want peace, it wants to conquer Ukraine. Anyone who pretends otherwise at this point is a fool or a liar. Like it or not, American security and prestige are entwined with Ukraine’s fate. Other adversaries are watching and waiting. So help them win—or we all lose

Russia is wasting these Russian lives while Ukraine defends itself and holds the line. Meanwhile, Ukraine buys time for the rest of Europe to rearm.

I agree with President Trump, war criminal Putin is crazy. The civilized world will not sit by for Putin’s imperial tantrum at the cost of more children’s lives. Secondary sanctions & arms support NOW. Grateful to stand with Ukraine as they continue to repel this unprovoked
