While our first discovery of this occurred just weeks into the shutdown, it's great to see it off bioRxiv now. SARS-CoV-2 infectivity can be modulated through bacterial grooming of the glycocalyx. Great collab with Knight and Esko labs and many others journals.asm.org/doi/10.1128/mb…

The federal government doesn’t ‘give’ money to Harvard. The $2.2 billion in frozen payments isn’t for Harvard sophomores’ tuition or library books. The US government is buying services from Harvard: scientific & medical research & development. These aren’t ‘woke donations.’

Excited to present work of a few dozen researchers on the recent community-wide update of the CHO metabolic network. This time we show what can be done when you have the whole "biochem textbook" of the cell... with all the pathways and protein structures biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

I’m happy to share that our scCellFie manuscript is finally on bioRxiv — a project that was an amazing opportunity to return to my roots in metabolism! We infer metabolic activity from single-cell & spatial transcriptomics 🧬 Read the pre-print here👇 📄 doi.org/10.1101/2025.0…

Excitng collaboration in which we expressed a hepatitis c vaccine candidate in a panel of glycoengineered CHO cell lines. This allowed us to find a specific glycan structure that greatly improved immunogenecity, even for more distant strains #glycotime nature.com/articles/s4154…

Why do some recomb proteins express better than others? After expressing >2000 proteins from the human secretome in CHO cells, we identified the protein features and host cell pathways linked to poor expression w/ Johan Rockberg lab. pnas.org/doi/abs/10.107…
