In addition to the basic 4 inputs: land, labour, capital & management including, seed, fertilizer & pesticides, water, machinery, etc., honeybees/beekeeping have proved to be promoted as 5th Input for agriculture which regulates the efficacy of other four inputs. #NBHM

#NBHM is promoting scientific beekeeping for holistic growth of the beekeeping industry for income & employment generation, providing livelihood support to farm and non-farm households, enhancing agriculture/ horticulture production, developing infrastructural facilities, etc.

Govt. of India has launched “National Beekeeping & Honey Mission” during 2020-21 with allocation of ₹500 Cr. for overall promotion and development of scientific beekeeping and to achieve the goal of “Sweet Revolution” #NBHM

Export of honey has increased from 28,378.42 metric tonnes in 2013-14 to 59,999.25 metric tonnes in 2020-21 with the help of stakeholders involved in beekeeping sector. #NBHM

03 Regional Testing Labs and 13 mini/satellite district level testing labs have been sanctioned and in the process of establishment under NBHM at various strategic locations including aspirational districts and North Eastern & Himalayan Areas. #NBHM
