Last week, I tried combining lino printing and pottery. These two gannet plates have just come out of the kiln and I absolutely love how they've turned out! 💙

New paper, led by Rob Hughes in Mires and Peat: More bird species gain from Flow Country afforestation than loose - BUT there's more declines among red-listed birds. Plus loosers are birds for which Flow Country is more important in UK terms. mires-and-peat.net/pages/volumes/… #PeatTwitter

A set of Black-throated Divers, inspired by seeing them on Scottish lochs earlier this year. A design that was very enjoyable to carve.

Some cracking sunrises while out on the Isle of May looking for colour ringed shags. The team seem to be regularly out over Halloween and so the pumpkins have to be brought to fill a long evening

Back from a great week @IofMayBirdObs. Steady movement of winter thrushes, woodcock, owls, and raptors kept things entertaining, whilst 4 curlews were the ringing highlight.

I have been trying a range of techniques to make my mugs, plates, and ornaments recently: marbling, bubble glaze, sgraffito and hand-building. Always featuring marine wildlife 🐧🐟

Working on a new plate using sgraffito to illustrate Guillemots. Carving into the black slip is tedious work but I love the end result. Can't wait to glaze and fire this plate!
