🥳Our junior ambassador, 11-year-old Henry Day, & his friend James have just completed an amazing challenge – the pair took part in the first ever Fenathlon, travelling 36 miles between 3 of the area’s most important wetland nature reserves by bike, kayak & foot. 1/5

🙌The pair started at Woodwalton Fen and travelled via Ouse Fen to Wicken Fen, each managed by the three charities they were fundraising for Wildlife BCN, RSPB and the National Trust. So far they have raised £5,000 and you can still donate on their fundraising page. 2/5

Henry 💚The money donated to the Wildlife Trust will go towards our new Wilder Future Fund – we’re aiming to raise £1.5million over the next three year to help fund our ambitious conservation plans until the end of the decade. 3/5

First day of wildlifebcn.org/30dayswild and the #hawkmoths were out last night. Great to record a selection of these impressive insects our garden this morning. We've also added #StripedHawkmoth to garden list as well. As it's a migratory species, so watch out for this stunner!

The Great Fen #Ecotour is nearly here (Sat 14th June), and it's encouraging to see lots of wildlife out and about. #Dragonflies and #butterflies are on the wing. Young birds and mammals are our and about, from young #Kingfishers to #WaterVole pups exploring their #wetland world.

A great weekend ahead at Great Fen, under its big blue skies in sunny weather. Looking forward to sharing the wildlife, the history, and the future of the #Fens on the #Ecotour this Saturday; the wildflowers, the moths, dragonflies, amphibians, birds, you get the idea..

The #river #GreatOuse is in great form this #summer, with #dragonflies in abundance; from #Emperors laying eggs and #NorfolkHawkers on the prowl, to #BandedDemoiselles on the wing and #RedEyedDamselflies on the lily pads. Look out for #FloweringRush and young #GreatCrestedGrebes.
