Here’s another example of why the General Assembly needs to consider lifting the moratorium on cities annexing land from surrounding counties. This can be done in a responsible way that would help shore up the survival of Virginia’s independent cities.

Its primary day, Virginia! It’s a beautiful day in the commonwealth. Polls are open from 6am-7pm. I’m supporting Levar Stoney for Lieutenant Governor and Jay Jones for Attorney General and I hope you will too.

Tonight we voted 4-1 in favor of a one-time bonus of 1.5% for our city employees. Our employees work hard to serve our community and whatever we can do to support them, we should do. This is not a recurring expense so not only was it the right thing to do, it was common sense.

This is shameful and disgusting. This is about 20 miles south of Bristol. Our grandfathers fought a war to save the world from the Nazis and now they march openly in our streets. Hate will never win because hate is very small. Nazis are losers and they will lose over and over.

Had a great time at the 2nd annual Mini-Golf with First Responders event in Bristol. It’s always a great opportunity for kids to see police cars and firetrucks up close, play some putt-putt, and get a snow cone. Thanks to Vice Mayor Holmes for organizing this!
