I’m trying something new this summer: choosing ONE thing to do, very well, each day. Clarifying, liberating, and productive. Great post by Tim Ferriss Side note: the Tim Ferris episode on Andrew D. Huberman, Ph.D. June 19, 2023 is excellent.

The better than expected JOLTS job opening data caused a lot of excitement around a better-than-expected US labor market, and triggered the breakout in equities I mentioned in my last US market view post Important to keep in mind that this survey is stale (March/April) and low

Born in Florida and owned a condo in pristine location in Naples, the selling season is limited even in the best of circumstances; the pressure to transact in season is acute. How many sellers need to transact ahead of insurance increases or one-time HOA assessments?

The revisions have been the story behind the headlines... this month is no exception. Today saw a 26% correction to the prior two months' total.

This is the million dollar question (and the ball game). Will the declining public hiring slack readily be taken up by the private sector?

Ask people, “what was your favorite chapter?” and not just, “what was your favorite book?” Save for fiction, biographies, and the Holy Bible, most books only have 2-3 exceptionally good chapters; all else is fluff to justify publication.

Cameras, not phones, were used to take photos by the under 20 crowd. Preppy chic is in. Long dresses are in. Elevated food, not fast food. Optimistic and engaging conversations with “the youth.” Graduation Party Season summed up in a single photo (shared with permission).

If they are solely on Indeed looking for a job that requires a four-year degree, they’re doing it wrong. Indeed surveys might have a population bias.

Small town libraries have a tight grip on my heart. Summertime in Minnesota is glorious: boating, fishing, hiking
working. When “up North,” I take a day to catch up on work at the local library. Friendly, air conditioned, WiFi, quiet rooms. Coffee shops? Nah
 libraries.
