Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza overnight, the scenes are beyond shocking, some of the worst images I’ve ever seen in 15 years of documenting war crimes. Those responsible for this must be prosecuted in international courts & an immediate arms embargo should be declared.

Oof, this email from FRONTLINE. To call the burning of people alive and the beheading of a child simply “Israel’s actions” and to equate that with rockets that were intercepted by the iron dome is an extraordinary devaluing of Palestinian life.

When you celebrate the violent rescue of the four captives which could have happened in a peaceful exchange, you are celebrating this

Israel killed the following Al Jazeera journalists in Gaza Samer Abu Daqqa Hamza Al-Dahdouh Mustafa Thuraya Ismail Al Ghoul Rami Al Rifi And some 160 other journalists. This is unfathomable and if western journalists valued their lives they would make noise until it stopped.

As I've written, I have mixed feelings on corridos - but really enjoyed this interview with the Tucanes de Tijuana for a docu-series. Great guys and musicians, we talked Sinaloa, Chalino and even the Beatles and got tacos sent over the border from TJ to San Diego. Viva La Chona

“Bukele 2029” dice la gorra del asesor presidencial. ¿Eso es ilegal vea? ¿O sea ahora sí es el periodo inmediato anterior? (Su reelección ya fue inconstitucional pero como ya lo normalizaron)

My take on the fighting in Goma right now––a town of 1.5 million with tens of thousands of displaced people huddled in fear at the moment. ft.com/content/8bae4e…

Several sources confirm hearing gunshots in the city and what sounds and looks like infiltrations. "No later than tomorrow morning 8am, the city will have fallen" a friend tells me. Thinking of everyone in town, reliving the nightmare again, again, again... #GOMA

M23 troops further advancing towards downtown #Goma tonight, including airport. Many FARDC fleeing and/or in surrender talks, but heavy fighting (involving wazalendo?) in some areas, no sight of European contractors.

Why is Bukele’s intel chief Peter Dumas lashing out over @ElFaro ’s video interviews with gang leaders confirming Bukele bribed his way to the mayor’s office in 2014? He is not always this hostile. Two reasons explain the shift.🧵

De este hilo 🧵se pueden destacar varios párrafos. “And I felt all but forced to self-censor, because every time one speaks anything remotely negative about their experience with El Salvador or how they view the administration's policies, the masses of X bring out the torches.”
