Writing this paper with Nelson Totah reignited my interest in the subC *(yellow, below) which fires like crazy in the lead up to & during REM sleep & may be the instigator of dreams & the reason they’re random. Few have recorded it. More must! Does every animal dream? Perhaps!

"Battle-tested" = 125+ animals were implanted in Nelson Totah's lab, with a 93% success rate. Rats were recorded from (ECoG, silicon probes) during behavior for periods ranging 3 to 8 months.
