1/n I was fortunate to be part of the Ochsner Nephrology team that participated in this very important contribution to the field of hepatorenal syndrome. Having said that, I think itβs important to highlight what this study shows and what should not be concluded from it:

RBC cast, waxy cast, and tubular epithelial cells - brightfield, with Prescott-Brodie stain - thanks to πππ₯π©π‘ ππ¨π‘ππ² ππ πππ who has resurrected this stain which was originally described in 1964! - Very useful for differentiating WBC's from tubular epithelial cells. Note the dark blue

If you are complaining about the reimbursement in nephrology understand that we are swimming upstream for this. And you better be an RPA-Nephrology member.

Major hurdle that we are yet to overcome. We gotta stay optimistic and exploit our momentum #KidneyWk ASN Advocacy NKF Advocacy NIH NIDDK
