Submitted my first F30 grant application to the #NIH. That was… a lot of work. I can see why PIs spend so much time doing them. #mstp

Thrilled to find out that our prediction of BAG3 regulation of tau aggregation in astrocytes published in rdcu.be/c5gw5 has been validated by Collin Nadarajah Collin Nadarajah in the Erik Musiek lab at #KSNeurodegen23 #KSNeuroimmune23 Keystone Symposia poster presentation!

Very happy to finally present my PhD paper in the Musiek lab where we find astrocyte activation via loss of Bmal1 abrogates intra-neuronal tau/synuclein pathology! We also find Bag3 upregulation in a cluster of astrocytes in human AD patients that resemble DAA astrocytes! šŸ‘‡

Excited to share Pat Sheehan and Collin Nadarajah's new paper with Albert (Gus) Davis out in Neuron! Circadian clock disruption via Bmal1 KO protects against tau and synuclein pathology. How can this be? It’s the astrocytes! This led us to astrocyte BAG3 as a protective response.

Our Neuron paper is finally out! We found a Bmal1-Bag3 axis in Astrocytes that is protective against Tau and Synuclein pathology! Check out the thread from fellow first-author Pat Sheehan who spearheaded this awesome project

Lab has been rough of late but that doesn’t matter… THE TEXAS RANGERS ARE AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS!!! #GoAndTakeIt World Series here we come!!

The only time I’ll be able to post this. Started the MSTP as a bright eyed 24 year old. Now hopefully in the second half šŸ˜…šŸ˜…

MSTP student extraordinaire Collin Nadarajah delivering his talk on astrocyte REV-ERBs at #CSHLglia. It's a big stage but he did very well. My first time at the meeting and it was great. Thanks to Erin Gibson for highlighting our glial circadian translatome paper.

the weirdest places I’ve seen the Eduroam WIFI so far: a small monastery on a lake an hour outside Munich and the Dachau concentration camp memorial

4 years ago on #ElectionDayĀ , I was studying for Cardio, Pulm, Renal, and Path block exams that week (that was a fun time šŸ˜…) Now during #Election2024 I’m putting together my first solo first author manuscript. Times change and yet the stress and deadlines remain

Making a thesis defense presentation while my street got hit by the #STL #Tornado yesterday. Thankfully, I’m alright. God is sending a message but I’m not sure what it is.
